Only microchipped animals can be registered and the registration must be in the owner's name on the microchip certificate
Cat
All cat registrations require proof of microchipping

In addition, the following will be required based on the cat registration type:

Reduced Fee
You are required to attach proof of desexing and if applicable evidence your cat is older than 10 years, kept for breeding at a licensed premises or registered with an approved organisation (eg Cats Victoria)

Full Fee
You are required to provide a letter from your Vet explaining why your cat cannot be desexed. This written advice must be provided by a Veterinary practitioner after he or she has personally examined the cat and must include the reasons why the health of the cat is liable to be significantly prejudiced if it is desexed

Pensioner Fees
If you are applying for a reduced pensioner fee, you will be required to upload a copy of your current pension card

Foster Care
Foster carers undertake temporary care of an individual or special group of animals for the purpose of giving the animal(s) care until they can be re homed. You must be an enrolled foster carer with Council to receive this registration rate and the rate is only for temporary care during the first 12 months.

Dog
All dog registrations require proof of microchipping

In addition, the following will be required based on the dog registration type:

Reduced Fee
You are required to attach proof of desexing and if applicable evidence your dog is older than 10 years, kept for working stock, breeding at a licenced premises, registered with an approved organisation (eg Dogs Victoria) or has undergone approved obedience training

Full Fee
You are required to attach a letter from your Vet explaining why your dog cannot be desexed. This written advice must be provided by a Veterinary practitioner after he or she has personally examined the dog and must include the reasons why the health of the dog is liable to be significantly prejudiced if it is desexed

Pensioner Fees
If you are applying for a reduced pensioner fee, you will be required to upload a copy of your current pension card

Assistance
You are required to provide evidence the dog is an assistance dog along with evidence the dog has been desexed (where applicable).

Guard or Protective Services
You are required to provide evidence the dog is either a guard dog or is trained in protective services

Restricted, Dangerous or Menacing
You will be required to provide evidence that the dog has been declared as Menacing by another Council, or declared dangerous by another Council or is one of the following restricted breeds: Pit Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Fila Brasiliero, Dogo Argentino, Japanese Tosa, Perro de Presa Canario or Preso Canario
